Do you only build green?
Simply put - no. We are happy to use any products or ideas you have in mind to complete your next project. However, we do try to offer optional green product alternatives whenever possible. The final decision to accept them is always yours. But one thing we are clear about - we will not build a wasteful job. Whether it’s recycling building waste, preventing site erosion, or carefully protect on-site materials from water damage, there are certain building practices which we believe should be followed on any job.
Isn’t it more expensive to use green products?
This is dependent upon each individual product or material in question. Solar panels are a major investment, but low-VOC paints are not. While some product manufacturers use “green” to charge a bit more, the competition in the market is increasing so quickly that the prices have nowhere to go but down. What’s more, truly green products are designed to last longer, lower maintenance costs, and contribute to reduced energy/resource consumption. All of these factors save money on monthly operating costs, something that must be considered in any construction project.
Why should I build green?
“Green” has become the all-encompassing word used to symbolize (and in some cases exploit) a movement among consumers. Whether you’re buying soap, a salad, or a skyscraper, the true question you should ask yourself is what else can this product do on top of its base function. In the development and construction field, owners are now interested in buildings that can operate at lower costs than their traditionally-built alternative. Buildings that use less water on a daily basis, that feature improved indoor air quality, and that in some cases help generate their own electricity. With the wide range of innovative features and products entering the marketplace every day, the best question to ask is why wouldn’t you want to build green?
